The purpose of this site is to educate and, thereby, foster further research.. The site is maintained by Health Breakthroughs International, LLC, a U.S.-based company. It is designed for use in the U.S. by U.S. health professionals, consumers and interested scientists who are conducting research in the areas addressed with the information and data provided on this website.
U.S. Dietary Supplement Health and Education Act of 1994
The site is designed to responsibly take advantage of the Dietary Supplement Health and Education Act of 1994 (DSHEA) as well as a general accepted approach to presenting a science library website about a broad range of ingredients found in different products. This act of congress granted new freedoms to distributing companies in the area of information that could be made available to consumers in connection with sale of various products. The DSHEA has not just allowed but encouraged companies to responsibly provide balanced and truthful educational scientific materials about their products to potential consumers. Materials that meet the standards of this law passed by congress and used in such a way as to meet these standards are termed "labeling-exempt".
This means that materials presented on this website are exempt from review by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration as labeling (promotional) materials. Labeling-exempt materials are publications that meet the following standards: a) are not false or misleading; b) do not promote a particular manufacturer or brand; c) present a balanced view of available scientific data; d) are kept physically separate from all products; e) and do not have information appended as product promotional materials attached by any method.
Congress's passed this law with the intention of improving the health of the American people through improved product choices made by informed consumers. Congress believed that this, in turn, would lower healthcare costs for the nation.
Educational vs. Promotional
The educational materials provided on this website are not meant to promote a particular product or company, but rather to provide a balanced view of the available science. Congress passed DSHEA with the knowledge that distributing companies often have the greatest interest in providing information about the ingredients in their own products and often are the most qualified to do so.
This is particularly true if products are considered proprietary. Dr David Wheeler’s company is applying for a patent on some products and has developed proprietary, unique formulations in regards to other products. It could be stated that self interest has the potential to create a bias in reporting. Therefore, we want to make you aware of sponsorship by Health Breakthroughs International, LLC (owned solely by Dr David Wheeler) and the focus up front concerning what is presented so that you can use this in your evaluation of the information contained on this site.;

In addition to providing information about specific ingredients as covered in the DSHEA law passed by congress, this website also provides additional information about a vast range of ingredients and other aspects of healthcare that may or may not be directly related to the product line developed by Dr David Wheeler. This is done to insure the highest level of education for US consumers and other interested parties.
